I think a bigger purpose for linking to other blogs is creating a sense of comradery as opposed to the common “all out war” different websites/businesses tend to have with each other. If only different blogs and companies could learn that there is really a mutually beneficial incentive to be linking back and forth and networking. This is not really a business that can be gone into alone if one expects it to be at all beneficial.
